Craig earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Utah School of Accountancy in 1988. He then pursued his Juris Doctor at the University of Utah College of Law, graduating in 1991. During law school, he served as a senior editor for the Journal of Contemporary Law and excelled in trial advocacy and moot court competitions—early indicators of his litigation strengths.

Craig began his legal career at Siegfried and Jensen, a local personal injury firm, before founding Craig Swapp & Associates. Under his leadership, the firm has become recognized in personal injury law throughout Utah, Idaho, Washington, and neighboring states.
