Craig M. Peters

Craig M. Peters is a seasoned trial attorney and partner at Altair Law® in San Francisco. He focuses on catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases involving product defects, medical malpractice, construction and industrial accidents, and dangerous property conditions. Known for his powerful courtroom presence, Craig has obtained numerous verdicts and settlements on behalf of individuals and families impacted by serious injury or loss. Craig earned his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law and holds B.A. degrees in Philosophy and Communications from the University of California, San Diego.

Craig is a seasoned California trial lawyer who has successfully handled complex cases involving traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, severe burns, fractures, and psychiatric trauma. When high‑stakes personal injury cases become too complex or head to trial, other attorneys regularly bring Craig in as lead trial counsel. In 2023, he secured the top personal injury verdict in Alameda County. Craig is also a sought‑after trial skills instructor, frequently teaching at law schools and legal organizations, and he has led international legal training programs through groups such as International Bridges to Justice.

Before founding Altair Law®, Craig M. Peters represented asbestos victims and worked for over a decade as a criminal defense attorney. He also served as Director of Training for the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office. In addition to litigation, he has taught constitutional law and evidence and has served in leadership roles with top legal associations.
