Corey L. Scott

Corey L. Scott is the founder of the Law Office of Corey L. Scott, P.C., a general practice firm serving Indianapolis and surrounding communities. His legal career is grounded in helping everyday people resolve real-life legal challenges. His practice focuses on bankruptcy, criminal defense, and family law, guided by a client-first, results-driven philosophy.

Corey earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminology from Indiana State University and later completed his Juris Doctor at the Indiana University School of Law–Indianapolis. During law school, he was an ICLEO fellow. He served in various clerkship roles, including with the Indiana Court of Appeals and the Indiana Supreme Court, gaining experience under esteemed judges such as Justice Robert D. Rucker.

Corey began his legal practice at Mike Norris Law Office, concentrating on Chapter 7 bankruptcy filings. He then served as a public defender with the Marion County Public Defender Agency, where he gained extensive courtroom experience defending clients in misdemeanor and felony cases. These roles shaped his commitment to advocating for those navigating financial hardship or facing criminal prosecution.

Since establishing his own firm, Corey L. Scott has combined entrepreneurship with public service. He represents clients in bankruptcy filings, criminal trials, and complex family law matters. His firm is known for its approach, legal clarity, and dedication to helping clients achieve favorable outcomes in difficult times.

Beyond the courtroom, Corey is committed to community service. He participates in pro bono programs such as “Ask a Lawyer,” the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic, and the Heartland Pro Bono Council.
