Clayburn Curtis is a seasoned criminal defense attorney and partner at Overman Legal Group. With over a decade of legal experience, he has handled more than 2,500 criminal cases, ranging from homicide to civil rights violations. His reputation as a relentless advocate has earned him recognition across Oklahoma, including the Clarence Darrow Award in 2019.
Clay earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Oklahoma State University with minors in Philosophy and Sociology. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2011, where he was honored for academic achievement in Criminal Procedure and actively participated in moot court and pro bono defense through the Criminal Defense Clinic. He further honed his trial skills at the Trial Lawyers College in Wyoming.
Clay began his career at the Public Defender’s Office, where he built a solid foundation in courtroom advocacy. He then joined the Buxton Law Group, focusing on personal injury and civil rights litigation, before launching Clay Curtis Law PLLC. At Overman Legal Group, he specializes in criminal defense, civil rights, and complex trial litigation, offering strategic and personalized representation to every client.
