Clark L. Derrick

Clark L. Derrick is an Arizona State Bar Certified Specialist in Criminal Law and Of Counsel at Burch & Cracchiolo, P.A., where he has served since 2020. With a career spanning over five decades, Mr. Derrick is highly regarded in both white collar and general criminal defense. His practice is dedicated entirely to defending clients in state and federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Derrick earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Arizona in 1968, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received his J.D. from the University of Arizona College of Law in 1972, graduating with distinction. During law school, he was Symposium Editor of the Arizona Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif.

Beginning his legal career in Phoenix in 1972, Mr. Derrick co-founded the firm Flynn, Kimerer, Thinnes & Derrick. He has since built a national reputation for his criminal defense work. His leadership includes service on the Arizona State Bar’s Criminal Law Advisory Commission (1993–2005) and the Executive Council of the Criminal Justice Section. He was also a lawyer representative to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference and is a founding member and former two-term president of Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice.
