About
Christopher M. Cockayne is a licensed personal injury attorney in Utah with a practice focused on auto accidents, dog bites, and general negligence claims. He is the founder of Cockayne Law, where he represents victims in a range of personal injury cases, including car, truck, and motorcycle accidents, pedestrian and cyclist injuries, and dog bite incidents. With years of experience in both large firms and solo practice, Chris is committed to advocating for fair outcomes and helping injured clients recover the compensation they deserve.
Christopher earned his J.D., High Honors, from the University of Utah College of Law in 2008. During law school, he was Editor of the Traynor Moot Court, a member of the National Moot Court Team, and a Leary Scholar. He also received the CALI Award in Remedies and Attorney Skills, as well as the COL Award in Advanced Torts, Trial Advocacy, and Teaching Law in High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at Weber State University, earning a B.A., Summa Cum Laude, in 2004.
Chris began his legal career at a large law firm in Northern California, where he worked on civil and domestic cases, including high-profile wrongful death litigation. He later returned to Utah and joined a local firm to sharpen his focus on personal injury law. Today, through Cockayne Law, he works exclusively in injury-related matters, bringing aggressive representation to clients who have suffered harm due to someone else’s negligence.
In addition to practicing law, Chris Cockayne has contributed to legal education through speaking events and published works. He has been recognized by professional groups such as the National Trial Lawyers and the American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys for his outstanding work in the field.
