About
Christine Dunn is the Washington, DC Managing Partner of Sanford Heisler Sharp McKnight and Co-Chair of the firm’s Sexual Violence, Title IX, and Victims’ Rights Practice. She represents individuals and groups in employment discrimination, whistleblower, and civil rights matters, including cases involving sexual violence and institutional responsibility. Her practice combines litigation strategy with advocacy for clients navigating sensitive disputes, government processes, and complex claims against employers and organizations.
Dunn earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and her B.A. from Yale University. She also clerked for the Honorable Michael Farrell of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. Her legal education and appellate clerkship strengthened her research, writing, and analytical skills, providing a foundation for handling fact-intensive litigation, evaluating legal theories, and presenting complex issues clearly in trial and appellate settings.
Dunn’s experience includes representing survivors in Title IX and sexual violence matters, employees in discrimination disputes, and whistleblowers in qui tam and related cases. She has also represented former patients in litigation arising from abuse by an Army physician. Earlier in her career, she served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia, where she handled criminal matters and gained direct courtroom and government enforcement experience.
Christine Dunn has received professional recognition for her work on behalf of plaintiffs, including honors from the National Law Journal and other legal publications. She also speaks and writes on issues affecting victims, employees, and whistleblowers. Her practice reflects extensive experience with high-stakes civil litigation and an ability to guide clients through matters that may involve employment rights, institutional conduct, government investigations, and significant personal or professional consequences.
