About

Charles R. Bacharach has built a distinguished legal career centered on employment law, labor-related disputes, and workplace compliance matters. He represents management clients facing a wide range of employment challenges and helps businesses address legal issues before they become costly disputes. His practical approach focuses on achieving favorable outcomes while reducing risk and protecting client interests.

Chuck earned a B.A., magna cum laude, from Clark University in 1984. He later received a J.D., with honors, from George Washington University in 1988. This strong academic foundation prepared him for a career handling complex employment matters. His educational achievements reflect a commitment to excellence that continues to guide his legal practice and client service.

Chuck concentrates on employment discrimination claims, sexual harassment matters, wage disputes, wrongful discharge cases, contract conflicts, ERISA claims, defamation actions, and False Claims Act issues. He has represented clients before the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Maryland Commission on Civil Rights, the District of Columbia Commission on Human Rights, and numerous county and city human relations commissions throughout Maryland.

Chuck also advises employers during audits and investigations involving workplace compliance obligations. His experience includes matters related to the FLSA, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Service Contract Act, and other federal and state employment regulations. In addition, he assists executives and professionals with employment agreements, contract negotiations, and issues that arise throughout the employment relationship.

Chuck believes that preventing disputes is often more effective than resolving them after litigation begins. He works closely with clients to develop personnel policies, employment agreements, restrictive covenant provisions, employee handbooks, and workplace procedures designed to reduce legal exposure. His guidance helps organizations create stronger employment practices while promoting compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Charles R. Bacharach is admitted to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia and before federal trial and appellate courts in both jurisdictions. His accomplishments have earned recognition, including an AV Preeminent™ rating in Martindale-Hubbell®, selection to Maryland Super Lawyers®, recognition in Best Lawyers in America®, and inclusion in Chambers USA® rankings for labor and employment law.
