Charles McIntosh

Charles McIntosh is a criminal defense lawyer serving clients from offices in Butte and Helena. He represents people facing Montana and federal criminal charges, appeals, and DUI allegations. Charles earned his J.D. from Baylor University School of Law with a concentration in criminal practice. His interest in criminal law developed during an internship with the McLennan County District Attorney’s Office in Waco, Texas. He assisted with matters involving a double-murder retrial, a fertilizer plant explosion, and a police shooting involving biker gangs. His training provided an early foundation in evidence, prosecution strategy, and courtroom preparation.

Charles began his post-graduate career as a felony prosecutor in Amarillo, Texas. He learned how police officers and prosecutors investigate, prepare, and present criminal cases. He later established a solo criminal defense practice near the Texas Gulf Coast. His defense work covered DUI charges and serious felonies in Texas state and federal courts. After receiving his Montana license in 2022, he began representing clients throughout Butte and surrounding communities.

Charles McIntosh continues to handle Montana criminal defense, federal criminal defense, criminal appeals, and DUI defense matters. He uses his former prosecutorial experience to examine evidence, anticipate arguments, and identify weaknesses in the government’s case. His counseling approach helps clients understand possible outcomes before making important decisions. He pursues workable resolutions when appropriate while remaining prepared to present each client’s defense at trial.
