About

Cathleen Scott is a Florida labor and employment attorney, managing partner, and firm founder who represents employers and employees in workplace matters. Her practice includes discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, unpaid wages, overtime, non-compete agreements, severance agreements, whistleblower claims, union activity, and employment contracts. She also handles class and collective actions, arbitration, FINRA hearings, unemployment appeals, and disputes involving federal and state employment laws.

Scott earned her J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law in 1997 and a B.A. from Stetson University in 1993. Her education provided a foundation in legal analysis, advocacy, negotiation, and dispute resolution. This training supports her ability to assess workplace claims, explain complicated employment laws, develop litigation strategies, and advise clients on practical steps for managing legal and operational risks.

Scott has practiced since 1998 and is admitted in Florida and the US District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida. She handles employment litigation in state and federal courts and appellate matters before Florida’s Fourth District Court of Appeal and the US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. As a certified mediator, she also helps parties resolve employment disputes through structured negotiation and alternative dispute resolution.

Cathleen Scott has been board-certified in labor and employment law since 2006 and regularly lectures on workplace law and dispute resolution. She has chaired the Florida Bar Labor and Employment Law Section’s Executive Committee and remains involved with its scholarship committee. Her professional leadership also includes service with employment law and women lawyers’ organizations. She brings extensive litigation experience, practical judgment, and a balanced understanding of employer and employee concerns to each matter.
