About
Catherine Richmond is an estate planning attorney at Stebbins Bradley in Hanover, New Hampshire. Licensed in New Hampshire and Vermont, she assists individuals and families with comprehensive trust and estate planning. Richmond earned a B.A. from Bates College, an M.B.A. from Plymouth State College, and a J.D. cum laude from Vermont Law School. During law school, she received academic excellence awards in dispute resolution, bankruptcy, federal income taxation, and securities regulation, along with the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Bankruptcy Medal of Excellence. She also served as an editor of the Vermont Law Review, strengthening her foundation in legal research, tax analysis, and complex planning.
Before law school, Richmond spent ten years in banking and ultimately served as Vice President of Lending and Branch Management for the former Marble Bank in the Upper Valley. She draws on that financial and lending background when advising clients on real estate issues connected to estate planning. Her experience also includes helping shape Vermont trust and probate law through committee work involving the Vermont Trust Code, fiduciary access to digital assets, and probate procedure.
Richmond is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and a member of the New Hampshire and Vermont Bar Associations. She has been selected for inclusion in New England Super Lawyers for Estate Planning and Probate each year since 2018. She has also served on charitable and nonprofit boards and currently serves as a director and vice-chair of Mascoma Bank.
