About
Catherine L. Campbell is a Director at Phillips Murrah whose practice focuses on appellate law, commercial litigation, labor and employment matters, and class actions. She represents clients in state and federal courts and has handled more than 100 appeals involving oil and gas, municipal, employment, and constitutional law matters.
Catherine earned her B.A. from the University of Colorado in 1987. She later earned her J.D., with Distinction, from the University of Oklahoma in 1991. Her education helped prepare her for a career focused on appellate advocacy, litigation strategy, and representing clients in complex legal matters throughout Oklahoma.
Catherine served as a law clerk to the Honorable Jerome A. Holmes of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit from 2006 to 2008. She also served as co-chair of the Oklahoma Bar Association Appellate Practice Section and authored several legal publications on Oklahoma practice and oilfield liability.
Catherine has represented employers in wage-and-hour class actions, oil and gas companies in mineral disputes, municipalities in constitutional law matters, and pension systems in appeals involving benefits. She is skilled in appellate brief writing, oral arguments, trial preparation, and handling litigation in state and federal courts.
Catherine has received Martindale-Hubbell BV® Distinguished™ recognition and has been listed in Best Lawyers® for Commercial Litigation, Litigation – Labor and Employment, Oil and Gas Law, Employment Law – Management, and Workers’ Compensation Law – Employers. She was also named a 405 Magazine Top Attorney in Appellate Law beginning in 2022.
