Carly Scott is an associate attorney dedicated to protecting the rights of individuals across Iowa. Her practice focuses on criminal defense, civil rights, sexual harassment and employment discrimination, and wage theft. With a strong background in research and courtroom advocacy, she has developed the skills necessary to handle complex cases with precision and care. Scott earned her B.S., cum laude, from Iowa State University in 2018, where she studied psychology and statistics. She went on to receive her J.D., with honors, from Drake University Law School in 2022. During law school, she served as a student attorney in the Criminal Defense Clinic, representing clients charged with offenses ranging from misdemeanors to Class C felonies. Licensed in Iowa, she is admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
While completing her studies, Scott gained extensive experience through research and clerkships. She contributed to the Iowa Criminal Law Practice Series and collaborated with Judge Michael R. Mullins of the Iowa Court of Appeals on the Iowa Criminal Statutes Summary Chart, a resource widely used by judges and lawyers statewide. She also clerked at Roxanne Conlin & Associates, where she worked on litigation and trial preparation. Her academic accomplishments include receiving the Timothy N. Carlucci Award for civility and professionalism.
Carly Scott is an active member of the American Association for Justice, Iowa Association for Justice, Iowa State Bar Association, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Polk County Bar Association.
