About

C. Angelia Duncan is a partner and Charlotte office managing partner at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner. She represents regional and multinational businesses in commercial litigation, internal investigations, and disputes involving membership organizations. Her practice includes contractual conflicts and matters before state and federal courts and arbitration tribunals. She manages cases from early analysis and prelitigation strategy through discovery, trial, and dispute resolution. She also coordinates litigation portfolios for companies facing disputes in several jurisdictions at the same time.

Angelia earned a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2007 and a J.D. from Wake Forest University in 2010. She was admitted to the North Carolina bar in 2010 and the Georgia bar in 2012. Her legal education and multistate admissions support a practice involving disputes across jurisdictions, complex procedural requirements, and the evaluation of business risks before and during litigation.

Angelia has managed nationwide litigation and arbitration portfolios for global companies, including subpoena defense, internal matters, and contract claims. She advises organizations on managing multiple disputes while addressing litigation costs, evidence, and consistent case strategy. Her practice also includes business and commercial disputes with overlapping regulatory, financial, employment, or real estate issues. She has represented clients in state and federal courts as well as alternative dispute proceedings across the country.

C. Angelia Duncan serves on the firm’s U.S. Women’s Leadership Board and National Recruiting Committee and previously co-chaired its Lawyers of Color Affinity Group. She serves on the Wingate University Board of Trustees and Wake Forest University School of Law Board of Visitors. Her civic work has included assistance to survivors of domestic violence. These roles complement her commercial litigation practice and ongoing leadership of the Charlotte office. She was listed in The Best Lawyers in America for litigation in the 2027 edition and supports professional leadership within her firm.
