Byung J. “BJay” Pak is a partner at Alston & Bird LLP, leveraging over two decades of experience in government investigations, regulatory compliance, and litigation. He represents corporations and executives in high-stakes government enforcement matters, internal investigations, and complex civil disputes, guiding clients through sensitive legal and reputational challenges.

BJay earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Stetson University in 1995 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois in 1998, graduating summa cum laude. Before entering private practice, he served as the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia, where he supervised more than 200 professionals and oversaw major federal prosecutions and civil litigation.

BJay’s earlier career includes serving three terms in the Georgia General Assembly, where he advanced criminal justice reforms and contributed to health care and tax legislation. As a registered Certified Public Accountant, BJay brings financial acumen to his legal practice, enabling him to advise clients effectively on regulatory, compliance, and enforcement issues.

BJay’s notable recognitions include the Daniel K. Inouye Trailblazer Award from the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association and the Prosecutor of the Year Award from the Korean Prosecutors Association.
