About
Burton J. Kinerk is a seasoned civil trial attorney with more than five decades of courtroom experience at the local, State and Federal level. His practice centers on serious personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, and complex multiple-party plaintiff lawsuits, including flood litigation and product liability matters.
Burton earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1957 from the University of Arizona. He later pursued his Juris Doctor at the University of Arizona Law School, where he completed his law degree in 1962. Earlier, he attended Tucson High School and studied at the University of Arizona on a baseball scholarship.
Burton is nationally certified by the American Bar Association as a Specialist in Civil Trial Law and Civil Practice Advocacy. His work has included litigating significant aviation crash claims, drawing on his background as a former private pilot. He has handled complicated pharmaceutical cases and other large-scale disputes involving multiple parties.
Burton has also served for over 35 years as a registered sports agent. In that role, he has advised, negotiated contracts, and mentored professional athletes and coaches with Southern Arizona ties. His guidance has supported clients through high-stakes negotiations and long-term career decisions in competitive environments.
Burton J. Kinerk has received an AV Preeminent Rating by Martindale-Hubbell® since 1980 and has been named to Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers Magazine’s Southwest Super Lawyers, and America’s Top 100 Lawyers’ Lifetime Achievement Award. He was the Co-Founder of the Arizona’s Finest Lawyers Foundation and has served as President of the Tucson Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association (now the Arizona Association For Justice, AzAJ).
