Bryan H. Beauman is a Member at Sturgill Turner in Lexington, Kentucky. He has represented Kentucky’s public and private employers for more than 25 years in litigation, governance, education law, employment law, and civil rights matters. Bryan advises local governments, higher education institutions, K-12 schools, businesses, and employers on legal issues involving workplace disputes, public entity operations, and First Amendment concerns.

Bryan earned his J.D. from the University of Kentucky and also received his B.A. from the University of Kentucky. His academic background supports a practice grounded in legal analysis, public law, employment issues, and practical problem solving. This training helps him guide clients through complex disputes, regulatory concerns, governance questions, and matters involving relationships among public institutions, employees, and the communities they serve.

Bryan’s experience includes defending employment claims before the EEOC involving discrimination based on race, gender, age, and disability, as well as public-employee speech claims. He has defended universities, cities, businesses, school officials, and public and private institutions in matters involving Title IX, the Open Records Act, whistleblower claims, qualified immunity, ADA and Section 504 issues, due process claims, public accommodation discrimination, and other litigation.

Bryan H. Beauman is a Life Member of the Sixth Circuit Judicial Conference and a former Kentucky Chapter President of the Federal Bar Association. He was named Best Lawyers in America Employment Law – Management “Lexington Lawyer of the Year” in 2023 and has been recognized by Kentucky Super Lawyers for employment and labor, nonprofit organizations, and schools and education. Bryan combines courtroom experience, public-sector knowledge, and practical judgment to help clients address important legal challenges.
