Bruce L. Townley is the founding attorney of Townley Law, PC, where he has served individuals and businesses throughout the Tri-County area for more than three decades. His practice spans a wide range of legal matters, including general civil litigation, business law, real estate, employment law, probate and estate planning, and criminal defense. He is known for providing practical, results-driven counsel across complex legal issues.
Bruce earned his Bachelor of Arts from John Brown University in 1988 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit School of Law in 1992. His legal background supports a broad, adaptable practice, enabling him to effectively represent clients in both civil and criminal matters.
Bruce was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1992 and is licensed to practice before all Michigan courts. He is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Over the course of his career, he has handled matters in state district and circuit courts, federal district court, bankruptcy court, and immigration court.
In addition to private practice, Bruce has served as a public defender for Lapeer County and the City of Sterling Heights, as well as a case evaluator for Lapeer County and Oakland County. His experience includes successfully defending the first state RICO case brought against a gang in Genesee County and securing substantial jury awards in civil litigation.
