Bruce E. Newman

Bruce E. Newman is a partner and Connecticut trial lawyer with more than 30 years of experience in personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, product liability, employment litigation, and class actions. He has served as lead counsel, plaintiffs’ class counsel, and liaison counsel in complex disputes. His practice includes representing injured people and families whose lives have been changed by serious accidents, medical negligence, workplace harm, defective products, and other misconduct.

Bruce earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Colgate University in 1986, with a minor in economics. He was named to the Dean’s List and received an LBJ Scholarship for Congressional Interns. He later earned his Juris Doctor from Albany Law School of Union University in 1989, where he was runner-up for the Baxter Publication Award. He is admitted in Connecticut, New York, and California, as well as several federal courts.

Bruce has represented more than 1,000 accident victims and understands the long-term effects of traumatic injuries. His work has included medical negligence, sexual abuse, occupational illness, employment, construction, and product liability matters. He helped secure a reversal in Marland v. University of Connecticut Health Center and has participated in multimillion-dollar settlements. His class action experience includes matters involving American Cruise Lines, Nestlé Purina PetCare, Volkswagen diesel vehicles, and pet food product liability claims.

Bruce E. Newman is a Lifetime Member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and has received recognition from national and regional legal organizations. He was selected as a National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Lawyer from 2013 through 2024 and as a Connecticut and New England Super Lawyer in personal injury plaintiffs’ law from 2017 through 2025. He is also active in professional associations, has served as a guest lecturer, and brings careful preparation and personal attention to each client’s case.
