Brian Fishman

Brian Fishman is the founder of The Fishman Firm, LLC and a Philadelphia trial lawyer whose practice is dedicated primarily to criminal defense. He represents people charged with offenses ranging from DUI and drug crimes to firearms charges, robbery, sexual assault, and other serious cases. His work also includes selected personal injury, civil rights, and family law matters. He brings prior prosecution experience to defense strategy, investigation, motion practice, negotiation, and trial preparation.

Fishman earned his undergraduate degree from Cornell University, where he studied Psychology, and graduated cum laude from Temple University Law School. He served as an editor on the Temple Law Review. His academic background in psychology and legal writing supports a practice that frequently involves witness credibility, police conduct, evidentiary disputes, and detailed factual records. He is admitted in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and in the federal court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Fishman previously served as an Assistant District Attorney in Philadelphia, trying hundreds of cases in Municipal Court, Juvenile Court, and the Court of Common Pleas. As a prosecutor, he handled matters involving rape, firearms offenses, attempted murder, burglary, robbery, DUI, and narcotics charges. In defense practice, he has handled preliminary hearings, bail issues, suppression motions, appeals, post-conviction matters, bench trials, and jury trials, using his prosecution background to evaluate how the government may build its case.

Brian Fishman opened his own firm after years of prosecution and private trial practice. He represents clients throughout Philadelphia and surrounding counties and focuses on protecting rights at each stage of a criminal case. His experience on both sides of criminal litigation helps him assess charging decisions, evidence, courtroom strategy, and negotiated outcomes while preparing cases for trial when a contested resolution is necessary.
