Brett J. Schneider is the Managing Director of the Boca Raton office and Chair of the Labor and Employment Division. A Florida Bar Board Certified attorney in Labor and Employment Law, he advises public and private employers on employment litigation, collective bargaining, workplace investigations, wage and hour issues, drug testing, employee medical concerns, and human resources compliance. His practice also includes administrative claims, restrictive covenants, unemployment matters, workers’ compensation, pension law, and government agency investigations and audits.
Brett earned a J.D., cum laude, from George Washington University Law School, where he served on the Journal of International Law & Economics. He received a B.A. in Government and Politics, with honors, from the University of Maryland. His education supports a practice that requires careful statutory analysis, negotiation, litigation strategy, and practical counseling for employers dealing with complex federal, state, and local workplace requirements.
Brett represents public employers in collective bargaining negotiations, labor impasse proceedings, unfair labor practice matters, and labor arbitrations. He also defends public and private employers in claims arising under Title VII, the ADA, ADEA, FLSA, FMLA, and the Florida Civil Rights Act. His work includes Department of Labor wage and hour audits and proceedings before the EEOC, NLRB, and Florida Public Employees Relations Commission. He advises on discipline, discharge, privacy, workplace policies, manager training, and drug and alcohol testing.
Brett J. Schneider is certified by the HR Certification Institute and the Society for Human Resource Management. He serves on the Palm Beach County Personnel Appeals Board and co-chairs the South Palm Beach County Bar Association Labor & Employment Law Committee. His recognitions include Florida Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, Florida Trend’s Legal Elite, and an AV Preeminent rating. He frequently speaks on labor, employment, medical marijuana, harassment, workplace violence, and human resources issues affecting employers.
