Brent Cashatt

Brent Cashatt is a highly accomplished attorney specializing in family law. With over 30 years of experience, he has established himself as a local and nationally premier trial lawyer. He is known for his expertise in handling complex family law cases, including high-asset divorces, business valuations, property division, spousal support, child support, and pre-marital agreements.

Brent earned his Juris Doctor degree from Drake University Law School in 1989 after completing his undergraduate studies at Grand View College in 1986. Since being admitted to the Iowa Bar in 1989, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional legal skills and dedication to his clients. His focus on family law has allowed him to significantly impact the field by representing clients in some of the most challenging and intricate legal matters.

Brent holds many distinguished certifications and memberships that reflect his commitment to excellence in family law. He is a Diplomate of the American College of Family Trial Lawyers, a select group of the top 100 family law trial lawyers in the United States. Additionally, he serves as President-Elect of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), a prestigious organization promoting professionalism in family law practice. Throughout his career, he has held numerous leadership roles within the AAML, including Vice President and Chair of multiple committees.

Certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy in Family Law Trial Advocacy, Brent has also contributed to the legal community as a faculty member at the American Bar Association/National Institute of Trial Advocacy Family Law Trial Advocacy Institute. As an adjunct professor at Drake University Law School, he has shared his knowledge with aspiring lawyers.
