About

Brad Coppedge is a partner at Goggans, Stutzman, Hudson, Wilson, and Mize, LLP, with more than 25 years of experience advising individuals, families, and businesses on complex legal and tax matters. He is widely recognized for his estate planning, estate administration, and tax planning practice for high-net-worth clients. His practice focuses on helping clients protect assets, plan for future generations, and navigate complicated legal decisions with clarity and confidence.

Brad earned a B.B.A. in Accounting from Mercer University, followed by a J.D. from Mercer University School of Law. He later completed an advanced LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Miami School of Law. This strong academic foundation allows him to address legal issues with a deep understanding of tax law, financial planning, and regulatory compliance, particularly in estate and business-related matters.

Brad has helped clients create comprehensive estate plans using wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, life insurance trusts, and advanced trust strategies throughout his career. He regularly advises on charitable planning, special needs trusts, and Medicaid planning, ensuring long-term protection for beneficiaries with disabilities. His probate and estate administration work includes guiding families through probate proceedings, guardianships, and conservatorships during sensitive transitions.

Brad counsels business owners on entity formation, tax-efficient structures, and ongoing operational matters in addition to estate planning. He represents clients in business transactions, employment agreements, and succession planning. He also assists individuals and entities in resolving disputes with the IRS and state tax authorities through negotiated solutions. His work reflects a consistent commitment to practical, results-driven legal guidance.

Brad Coppedge is admitted to practice in Georgia and Alabama and before the United States Tax Court. He frequently speaks and writes on estate planning and business law topics, contributing valuable insight to both professional and public audiences.
