Beth Baloun

Beth Baloun is the owner and attorney at Baloun Law PC in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Her practice focuses on family law matters including adoption, child custody, and divorce. She brings prior appellate, consumer-protection, prosecution, and child-welfare experience to private practice, giving her perspective on both civil and public-sector legal processes. Beth graduated with honors from the University of South Dakota, completing a double major in Political Science and Psychology. She later earned a Juris Doctorate and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of South Dakota. Beth began her post-graduate legal career with the South Dakota Attorney General’s Office, working on appeals and later serving as Chief Legal Counsel in the Consumer Protection Division. Her work there ranged from civil judgments to criminal prosecutions, and she argued before the South Dakota Supreme Court. She later practiced family law and handled abuse and neglect matters for the Minnehaha County State’s Attorney before returning to private practice.

Beth Baloun is admitted in South Dakota, before the U.S. District Court for the District of South Dakota, and before the Eighth Circuit. Her background across appellate practice, consumer protection, prosecution, child-welfare matters, and private family law gives her a broad view of litigation and public legal systems.
