Bernard G. LeBeau

Bernard G. LeBeau is the managing partner of LeBeau Thelen, LLP and has managed the firm since its inception in 1985. His practice centers on business and corporate law, agriculture, real estate law, estate planning, healthcare, and probate and trust matters. He advises clients on commercial real estate transactions, business formations, acquisitions, tax planning, estate structures, and trust administration, while also serving as general counsel to businesses and local trade organizations.

Mr. LeBeau earned his B.S.C. in Accounting from the University of Santa Clara in 1975, his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1978, and his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law in 1979. He graduated summa cum laude from law school. His advanced tax training supports work involving tax-deferred exchanges, business reorganizations, estate planning, charitable structures, and other complex financial and transactional legal matters.

Mr. LeBeau handles acquisitions, development, leasing, and financing of commercial real estate projects, including shopping centers, office buildings, healthcare facilities, industrial properties, and agricultural properties. He also advises on Section 1031 tax-deferred exchanges, tax-free corporate reorganizations, sales and acquisitions of businesses, and the formation of partnerships, corporations, and limited liability companies. His estate work includes complex plans involving generation-skipping taxes, private foundations, charitable trusts, and complex and sophisticated trust administration services.

Bernard G. LeBeau serves as general counsel to businesses and trade organizations in Bakersfield and Kern County. His professional roles include serving as general counsel to the Bakersfield Association of Realtors and Kern Refuse, Inc., and he is a past president of Bakersfield North Rotary. Through his legal services, he works with clients on transactional, tax, real estate, business, estate, probate, and trust matters requiring careful planning and long-term legal guidance statewide.
