Matt D. Resnik

Matt D. Resnik is the managing partner of RHM LAW LLP and a Certified Bankruptcy Specialist through the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. He focuses on individual and business bankruptcy, bankruptcy law, civil litigation, and loan modification. He represents financially distressed individuals and businesses against creditors while also handling creditor, landlord, and workout matters. His practice includes both consumer cases and complex business reorganizations across Southern California.

Mr. Resnik earned his B.A. from California State University at San Diego in 1992 and his J.D. from the University of West Los Angeles School of Law in 1996. After law school, he devoted his career to consumer bankruptcy and later founded Simon Resnik LLP in 2003. His background includes extensive work with Chapter 13 matters, business reorganizations, bankruptcy litigation, foreclosure disputes, loan modification, and related state and federal court proceedings.

Mr. Resnik has personally represented or overseen bankruptcy matters for thousands of individuals and businesses. He manages the firm’s Chapter 13 practice and handles matters involving nondischargeability complaints, objections to discharge, and other bankruptcy-related litigation. His experience also includes wrongful foreclosure actions in state and federal court, as well as civil litigation involving real estate and business disputes. He works across litigation and non-bankruptcy workout settings for debtors and other parties.

Matt D. Resnik is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Beverly Hills Bar Association, National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, and Central District Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys Association. He has served as a keynote speaker and panelist on issues related to the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005. Through his law practice, he helps direct firm operations while continuing to advise clients facing financial and litigation challenges.
