Benjamin R. Imhoff is a partner and registered patent attorney at Andrus Intellectual Property Law, where he focuses on developing tailored IP strategies that align with clients’ business goals. His practice includes patent and trademark prosecution, enforcement, and resolving disputes through licensing and commercial agreements.

Ben holds a B.S. in biomedical engineering with a minor in electrical engineering from Marquette University, graduating cum laude. He later earned his J.D. cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Law School, where he also competed in the prestigious Giles Rich Intellectual Property Moot Court Competition.

Ben represents clients before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. He also provides legal opinions on non-infringement, patentability, and freedom to operate, helping clients avoid litigation risks while protecting innovation in a competitive marketplace.

Ben has particular experience with medical technologies, including mechanical therapy devices, patient monitoring systems, and imaging software. His engineering background also supports his work with electrical sensors, water filtration, lab equipment, automotive systems, and hydrocarbon extraction technologies.

In addition to his client work, Ben is active in professional organizations such as the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) and the International Trademark Association (INTA), where he serves on the Harmonization of Trademark Law and Practice Committee. He was also recognized in Thomson Reuters’ Super Lawyers – Rising Stars Edition in 2009.
