Benjamin M. Reznik is a Los Angeles land use and real estate lawyer who chairs the Government, Land Use, Environment, and Energy Department and leads the Legal Cannabis Practice Group. His practice focuses on real estate development entitlements, zoning, and environmental issues. He frequently appears before planning commissions, city councils, governmental boards, and agencies on behalf of developers and businesses. His work also touches CEQA and NEPA, air emissions, energy, licensing, government contracts, and regulatory matters.
Benjamin earned a J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law and a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles. His education provided a foundation in legal analysis, public law, regulatory matters, and advocacy that supports his work on complex development projects. His work has included obtaining approvals for several million square feet of commercial development and several thousand residential units. He has represented clients in matters involving liquefied natural gas facilities, large mixed-use developments, office campuses, airport retail concessions, and luxury residential projects. He also argued before the California Supreme Court in Landgate, Inc. v. California Coastal Commission.
