Ben Turshen

Ben Turshen is the founder of Solace Estate Planning in Shaker Heights, Ohio. He advises families and business owners on estate planning, asset protection, elder law, and wealth transfer. His work focuses on helping clients avoid unnecessary probate proceedings, prepare for long-term care costs, and establish arrangements that protect family assets. Ben earned a B.S., magna cum laude, from Boston University in 2003 and an M.A. from Columbia University in 2005. He received his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law in 2008. His business-oriented legal training developed further through years advising institutional investors and investment fund sponsors. This experience informs his approach to evaluating complex ownership structures, asset protection needs, and long-term planning.

Ben previously practiced at Paul Hastings LLP, Jones Day, and Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP. His work involved the formation and operation of U.S. and international investment vehicles, including private equity, hedge, real estate, and other funds. He now applies that transactional background to personal estate plans, trusts, Medicaid-related planning, creditor-risk concerns, and succession arrangements for Ohio families and business owners.
