Barry N. Johnson is a founding partner at Bennett Tueller Johnson & Deere. He helped build the firm into a respected commercial practice with over 35 lawyers. He focuses on delivering strong results for clients and is known for his leadership in complex litigation.

Barry earned his J.D. from Willamette University College of Law in 1992, graduating cum laude. He served as Articles Editor for the Willamette Law Review and won the first year moot court competition. He also earned a B.A. in American Studies from Brigham Young University in 1988.

Barry focuses on appeals, commercial litigation, construction law and litigation, creditor rights, employment litigation, probate and trust litigation, and real estate litigation. He leads the firm’s commercial litigation section and handles a wide range of complex and high-stakes disputes.

Barry has nearly thirty years of experience managing and trying cases. His work includes partnership disputes, securities fraud cases, class actions, employment disputes, trade secret litigation, and construction defect claims. He has handled matters in trial, arbitration, mediation, and settlement with strong results.

Barry is known for presenting complex issues clearly while maintaining a balance between passion and reason. Judges and peers have recognized his courtroom skills and his ability to deliver effective, persuasive arguments.

Barry has been admitted to the Utah State Bar since 1992. He practices in Utah state and federal courts and is admitted to the Ninth and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeals, as well as the United States Supreme Court.

Barry has been repeatedly recognized by his peers as one of Utah’s “Legal Elite.” His publication includes work on political patronage law in the Willamette Law Review, reflecting his early focus on legal analysis and writing.

Barry N. Johnson is a member of the Utah State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He continues to guide clients with strong advocacy, careful preparation, and a focus on achieving the best possible results in complex legal matters.
