Aviki, Allison

Allison Aviki is a partner at Mayer Brown, managing partner of its New York office, and co-leader of the firm’s Intellectual Property practice. Her work centers on copyright, trademark, trade dress, and trade secret disputes. She represents businesses in trial and appellate courts and advises companies whose valuable intellectual property is threatened by infringement claims, commercial conflict, or questions about the protection of creative work.

Aviki received her JD from Harvard Law School, an MA from Emerson College, and a BA from Mount Holyoke College. At Harvard, she edited the Journal of Law & Technology and worked with faculty on legal research. Her law school experience also included an internship with a federal judge and work with the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Appeals Division. This training supports her intellectual property litigation practice.

Her litigation experience covers investigations before filing, discovery, expert testimony, summary judgment, trial preparation, settlement, and appeals. Aviki has handled software copyright disputes, trademark injunction proceedings, and appeals in several federal circuits. Her clients work in publishing, food and beverage, media, and entertainment. She also advises on litigation strategy when creative works, brand identity, or confidential information are involved in a commercial dispute.

Aviki has received recognition for legal writing, including a Law360 Burton Foundation Distinguished Legal Writing Award, and has been identified as a key lawyer in a nationally ranked copyright practice. Her pro bono work concerns civil rights and veterans’ issues.
