Ashley Flagstad

Ashley Flagstad is an attorney at Pringle & Herigstad, P.C. in Minot whose practice focuses on criminal defense and also includes family law and civil litigation. She represents clients in contested matters that may require investigation, negotiation, motion practice, or trial preparation. She is also a licensed family mediator and has served in roles involving parenting investigations and guardian ad litem work.

Ashley earned her Juris Doctor cum laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2014, where she completed a litigation concentration. She received a B.S. in Criminal Justice cum laude from Minot State University in 2007. During law school, she interned with the Kent County Public Defender in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Her education and practical training provided an early foundation in criminal procedure, advocacy, client representation, and courtroom preparation.

She joined Pringle & Herigstad directly after law school and developed a practice centered on criminal defense while also handling family and civil disputes. Ashley’s mediation training gives her experience with negotiated resolution in family matters, while her litigation background supports representation when a case must proceed in court. Her parenting-investigation and guardian ad litem experience also adds perspective on disputes involving children and family decision-making.

Ashley Flagstad is admitted in North Dakota and before the U.S. District Court for the District of North Dakota. She is also involved with criminal-defense and bar organizations that support continuing professional development. Her practice combines criminal advocacy, family-law experience, and dispute-resolution skills, helping clients understand legal procedures, evaluate available options, and prepare for hearings, negotiations, mediation, or trial depending on the needs of the matter.
