Arturo J. González, partner at Morrison Foerster, is widely regarded as one of the nation’s top trial lawyers. Known for his exceptional advocacy and ability to connect with diverse juries, he has secured victories for America’s largest companies and obtained multimillion-dollar verdicts for plaintiffs, making him a uniquely versatile advocate.
Arturo earned his A.B. from the University of California, Davis, and his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and an associate with the American Board of Trial Advocates. His leadership also includes serving as the 2010 President of the Bar Association of San Francisco.
Arturo has achieved defense victories in billion-dollar disputes while also securing four jury verdicts exceeding $10 million, including $39.3 million and $13.8 million in trade secret cases. His notable representations include Waymo v. Uber, where he helped achieve a favorable settlement, and Phoenix Technologies v. VMWare, where he won a complete defense verdict against claims exceeding $100 million. He has also obtained record verdicts in civil rights and wrongful death cases, including a $63 million judgment.
Arturo’s excellence in trial advocacy has earned him repeated recognition from Chambers USA, The Legal 500, and the Daily Journal’s Top 100 Lawyers in California. He was inducted into the California Lawyers Association’s Trial Attorney Hall of Fame in 2021 and Legal 500’s Trial Lawyers Hall of Fame in 2017. Earlier, The National Law Journal named him among the top 10 trial lawyers in the country and one of the “50 Most Influential Minority Lawyers in America.”
