Art Anderson is a real estate and land use attorney who represents landowners, developers, and builders in complex disputes involving governmental regulation and property rights. His practice focuses on eminent domain, condemnation, regulatory takings, annexation, impact fees, subdivision approvals, and vested rights claims. He advises clients throughout the entitlement and development process and litigates high-stakes matters in both state and federal courts with strategic focus and long-term planning.

Art earned his J.D., with honors, from the University of Texas School of Law. He also received his M.P.A., first in his class, from the University of Texas at Austin’s LBJ School of Public Affairs. He earned his B.A., with honors, from Austin College. His combined legal and public policy education provides a strong foundation for navigating regulatory systems and complex governmental decision-making affecting real estate development.

With more than 30 years of experience, Art has secured significant jury verdicts and appellate victories for property owners. His results include multi-million-dollar condemnation awards that exceeded governmental offers and substantial regulatory takings verdicts. He has argued before the Texas Supreme Court and various courts of appeals and frequently prepares amicus briefs in important land use matters. He also processes development applications and presents cases before administrative and legislative bodies.

Art Anderson has been recognized multiple times as “Lawyer of the Year” in Eminent Domain and Condemnation Law by Best Lawyers in America. He has written two published books on Texas land use law and delivered more than seventy-five professional presentations. Known for disciplined preparation and detailed analysis, he works to protect property rights, preserve land value, and achieve favorable outcomes in complex real estate and infrastructure disputes.
