Armando E. Batastini

Armando E. Batastini is a Partner and Providence Office Managing Partner at Nixon Peabody LLP. He is a commercial and real estate litigator and leads the firm’s Distressed Commercial Debt Litigation team. He represents businesses and owners in contractual, shareholder, commercial realty, and trust and estate disputes. A significant part of his practice involves holders of commercial debt in workouts, foreclosures, receiverships, guaranty enforcement, lender liability matters, and related distressed-debt litigation.

Armando earned a JD magna cum laude from Roger Williams University, where he was class valedictorian, and a BS from the United States Naval Academy. He is admitted in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New York and in several federal courts. His academic and professional background supports a practice combining litigation, real estate, finance, and commercial strategy. He also advises on transactions involving commercial real estate sales, acquisitions, leases, and distressed assets.

Armando represents special servicers, lenders, and purchasers across the lifecycle of distressed commercial debt, from acquisition and workouts through foreclosure and receivership. He also handles title, boundary, easement, restrictive covenant, adverse possession, partition, leasing, shareholder, fiduciary, and oppression disputes. In election law, he advises and represents candidates before the Rhode Island Board of Elections and in state and federal courts regarding election challenges, ballot access, and related issues.
