About
Aparna Patrie is a dedicated immigration attorney with more than a decade of experience in civil litigation, federal policy, and client advocacy. As founder and principal of Patrie Law Associates, LLLC, she represents individuals, families, and businesses in complex immigration matters with careful preparation, clear communication, and practical legal guidance.
Aparna earned her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center in 2015, graduating magna cum laude. After law school, she clerked for Judge Marjorie O. Rendell of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, where she worked on complex immigration appeals and strengthened her appellate analysis and judicial reasoning. Her practice covers asylum, deportation defense, detention matters, adjustment of status, family-based immigration, business immigration, waivers of inadmissibility, U-Visas, VAWA petitions, citizenship, work authorization, and immigration appeals.
Before founding Aparna’s firm, she served as counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary, advising on Department of Justice oversight, civil rights, and immigration policy. She also worked in the U.S. House of Representatives, gaining direct experience with legislative processes that shape federal immigration law and policy development. Her earlier legal work included service as a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division. She investigated civil rights violations and litigated federal cases involving police misconduct, prison conditions, and juvenile detention facilities.
Through Roots Reborn, Aparna Patrie provided immigration legal services to survivors of the 2023 Maui wildfires while supporting policy advocacy, community education, and Know Your Rights trainings. Her work has helped clients seek safety, reopen difficult cases, secure lawful status, obtain employment authorization, and move forward with greater stability during transitions. She brings policy knowledge, courtroom experience, and a client-centered approach to every case. Her professional associations include the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the American Civil Liberties Union, the Hawaii Coalition for Immigrant Rights, and the Hawaii Coalition for Civil Rights, reflecting her continued commitment to immigrant communities and advocacy.
