About
Anna E. Mattis focuses her legal practice on helping individuals and families manage family law challenges. Her experience covers adoption, divorce, alimony, child and spousal support, custody disputes, domestic violence cases, and matters affecting LGBTQ families. She advocates both in court and through negotiated agreements, with a practical, empathetic approach.
Anna earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Vermont, completing a dual major in Latin and Critical Race and Ethnic Studies through the Honors College in 2016. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2021. Her education and training prepared her to approach family law with critical thinking and cultural understanding.
Anna’s interest in family law was sparked during a judicial clerkship in family court, where she saw the importance of skilled representation. That experience led to client advocacy roles with Temple Legal Aid’s Family Law Litigation Clinic and as a fellow with Philadelphia Legal Assistance, handling custody, support, and Protection from Abuse cases.
Anna has also served as a law clerk with the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. There, she drafted judicial opinions for felony and PCRA cases, trained judicial interns, and conducted legal research to support court decisions. This litigation background sharpened her courtroom awareness and legal writing abilities.
In addition to her client-focused work, Anna supported legal education as a recruitment coordinator at Temple Law, managing outreach and communication with admitted and prospective students. This role deepened her engagement with the legal community and strengthened her administrative insight.
Anna E. Mattis is licensed to practice law in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She brings dedication and clarity to each case, offering guidance through complex legal matters. Her recognition includes the Eric D. Turner Award in 2021, underscoring her commitment to public service and excellence in family law advocacy.
