About

Ann Bauer is a founding member of The Center for Family Law and has practiced exclusively in family law after an earlier career in early childhood education. Her work includes divorce, child custody, mediation, collaborative law, guardian ad litem service, and parenting coordination. Ann helps families address legal and parenting disputes through negotiated processes when possible while maintaining the litigation experience needed for contested matters involving children, finances, property division, and changing post-divorce circumstances.

Ann earned a J.D. from Washington University School of Law in 1994, an M.Ed. from Loyola University through the Erikson Institute in Child Development in 1976, and a B.S. from Iowa State University in 1973. Her combination of legal and child-development education is directly relevant to family-law matters involving parenting, custody, and children’s needs. She has been licensed in Missouri since 1994 and has continued advanced work in mediation and collaborative dispute resolution.

Ann is a certified family law mediator and is trained in collaborative law, guardian ad litem practice, and parenting coordination. She has served on the Missouri Bar Family Law Section and its governing council and was a founding member and former president of the Collaborative Family Law Association in St. Louis. Her professional work reflects a long-term commitment to resolving family disputes through structured negotiation while preserving the option of court advocacy when agreement cannot be reached.

Ann Bauer is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and received the 2013 Roger P. Krumm Family Law Award. She has also been recognized by Best Lawyers for family law, family law mediation, and collaborative law. Ann combines decades of family-law practice with training in child development and dispute resolution, helping clients navigate divorce, custody, parenting, and financial issues with careful attention to legal requirements and the continuing needs of families.
