Dan Haltenhof

Dan Haltenhof is the founder and managing partner of Haltenhof Law Group, LC and a criminal defense attorney whose practice includes DWI, felony and misdemeanor charges, traffic matters, expungement, driver’s license issues, family law, and personal injury. Haltenhof represents individuals in St. Louis County, Jefferson County, and St. Charles County and has extensive experience with treatment courts, diversion programs, and alternative approaches that can affect how certain criminal and DWI matters are resolved.

Haltenhof graduated from St. Louis University with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, a Master’s in Business Administration, and a J.D. His education combines business training with formal legal study, supporting a practice that requires structured problem solving, client counseling, negotiation, and courtroom preparation. During law school, he was nominated for a Pro Bono Legal Service Award for work assisting a neighborhood organization with nonprofit status, funding, and community stabilization efforts.

Haltenhof’s criminal practice includes DWI and drunk driving defense, other criminal charges, expungement, traffic cases, and complex driver’s licensing matters. His work with alternative treatment options included helping create a Special Limited Driving Privilege Track under the St. Louis County DWI Court in 2016. He also handles family law matters such as divorce, modification proceedings, orders of protection, paternity, child support modifications, contempt matters, and enforcement actions.

Dan Haltenhof has been active in the Missouri Bar Solo and Small Firm Committee and has served as its chair. He received the Missouri Bar President’s Award in 2011 and the Solo and Small Firm Distinguished Service Award in 2013. His practice combines criminal defense, DWI work, licensing issues, and related litigation with professional leadership in the Missouri legal community, giving clients representation informed by courtroom experience and familiarity with alternative court and treatment programs.
