About
Andrew T. Shepherd is an experienced attorney with a broad practice spanning estate planning, probate, business formation, and real estate litigation. His work includes wills, trusts, special needs trusts, and contested matters involving heirs’ property, partitions, easements, tax appeals, and quiet title actions across South Carolina courts.
Andrew earned his Juris Doctor from Charleston School of Law in 2007, following his Bachelor of Science from the College of Charleston in 2003. During law school, he demonstrated strong academic excellence and leadership through advanced legal studies and extensive involvement in scholarly legal publications.
In addition to planning-focused representation, Andrew is a skilled litigator who has tried and argued numerous cases before judges and juries throughout the state. He has also successfully appeared before administrative bodies, the Federal District Court for the District of South Carolina, state appellate courts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Before entering private practice, Andrew served as a judicial law clerk for the Dorchester County Probate Court and the Dorchester County Master-in-Equity. He also worked as a paralegal in a large plaintiff’s firm handling mass and toxic tort litigation, experiences that shaped his commitment to effective legal advocacy.
Andrew has received several professional honors, including the CALI Award for excellence in Advanced Estate Planning. He also served as Founder, Executive Member, Student Works Editor, and Articles Editor of the Charleston Law Review, reflecting his dedication to legal scholarship and professional development within the legal community.
Andrew T. Shepherd is actively involved in professional and community organizations. His service includes leadership and board roles with civic, alumni, and charitable groups, as well as participation in professional associations that support ethical practice, community engagement, and service-oriented legal work throughout the region.
