About

Andrew P. Hogan is a partner in Morrison Mahoney LLP’s Providence office who concentrates on Workers’ Compensation. He represents employers, self-insureds, third-party administrators, and insurance carriers in all aspects of workers’ compensation litigation under the Rhode Island Workers’ Compensation Act. He appears regularly before the Rhode Island Workers’ Compensation Court. His practice focuses on defending and managing work-injury claims for organizations responsible for benefits, claims administration, and risk under Rhode Island law.

Andrew earned a J.D. cum laude from the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law and a B.A. magna cum laude from Rhode Island College. During law school, he served as a judicial intern for Judge Rogeriee Thompson of the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and as a legal intern for the Rhode Island Office of the Attorney General. These experiences strengthened his research, writing, and litigation preparation before he entered private practice.

Andrew previously worked at a mid-size firm where he gained experience in education and municipal law, personal injury, and labor and employment law. He also served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Daniel Procaccini of the Rhode Island Superior Court. His broader background informs a workers’ compensation practice that requires evaluation of employment relationships, medical and factual records, statutory obligations, litigation strategy, and the procedural requirements of the Rhode Island Workers’ Compensation Court.

Andrew P. Hogan is admitted in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association, and Rhode Island Workers’ Compensation Bench Bar Committee. His current practice is centered specifically on workers’ compensation defense rather than general insurance law. He brings together court experience, prior work in several civil practice areas, and focused representation of employers, carriers, administrators, and self-insured entities handling contested workplace injury claims in Rhode Island.
