Andrew Kevin Jacobson

Andrew Kevin Jacobson is the founder and a member of Bay Oak Law in Oakland, California. His practice focuses on intellectual property and business litigation, including trademark and copyright infringement, trade secret misappropriation, unfair competition, and contract disputes. Jacobson represents businesses and individuals in contested matters while also advising companies on day-to-day legal issues. His work combines courtroom advocacy with preventive counseling designed to help clients identify and address potential disputes before they escalate.

Jacobson earned his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 1990, where he received the Prosser Prize in Civil Procedure. He previously earned a B.S. in Political Science from Stanford University in 1985. He joined the California Bar in 1990. His legal education and decades of litigation experience provide a strong foundation for analyzing intellectual property rights, commercial relationships, contracts, and the procedural issues involved in complex civil disputes.

Jacobson has litigated cases involving trademark and copyright infringement, trade secrets, title insurance coverage, will contests, attorney malpractice, declaratory relief, and breach of contract. His work also includes employment compliance and counseling businesses on corporate governance and other operational concerns. In addition to representing clients in litigation, he serves as a pro team settlement conference officer, helping mediate disputes on behalf of the courts and supporting negotiated resolutions when appropriate.

Andrew Kevin Jacobson has also written about trade secrets, trademark infringement, employee management, and corporate governance. From 2004 through 2014, he taught a course on the business of media at Ex’pression College for Digital Arts.
