Andrew Alatis

Andrew J. Alatis is an associate attorney at NRS Injury Law who focuses on Ohio workers’ compensation cases. He represents injured workers in claims and disputes involving job-related injuries and benefits. His practice draws on decades of experience with state government, administrative proceedings, and insurance-related matters. His work is based at the firm’s Columbus office, although the firm also maintains locations elsewhere in Ohio. He joined the firm in 2024.

Andrew received a B.A. in International Relations and Political Science from Carleton College. He earned his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University Law School in 1989, receiving an award for an outstanding research paper on health services management. His education complements a career involving healthcare regulation, injury benefits, and legal disputes between individuals and government agencies. He was admitted to the Ohio bar in 1989.

Andrew previously served in the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, including as Principal Assistant Attorney General in its Workers’ Compensation Section from 2004 to 2024. He handled extensive litigation and administrative hearings involving the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation and Industrial Commission of Ohio. Earlier roles involved health and human services litigation, regulatory agencies, and charitable law supervision. Before entering legal practice, he managed insurance claims for Liberty Mutual.

Andrew J. Alatis has worked as a court mediator and arbitrator and presented workers’ compensation continuing education programs for legal professionals. He has also volunteered legal assistance to people using homeless shelters. His background representing state agencies gives him familiarity with how disputed benefits cases are evaluated and defended. He now applies that experience on behalf of injured employees, drawing on negotiation, litigation, and administrative hearing work to help them pursue available benefits.
