Amorya M. Orr

Amorya M. Orr is a trial attorney in the Jackson office of Cosmich Simmons & Brown, PLLC and a member of the firm’s national trial team. Her practice includes Alternative Dispute Resolution, Asbestos & Talc, General Litigation, Insurance Litigation, Premises Liability, Product Liability, and Toxic Tort. Amorya earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Fisk University. Her academic background supports the analytical and communication skills required for briefing, oral advocacy, witness preparation, and dispute resolution. She is admitted in Mississippi and also practices as a mediator, giving her experience with both contested litigation and structured efforts to resolve cases outside of trial.

Amorya’s representative experience includes obtaining summary judgment in product liability litigation, handling causation and expert-evidence challenges, securing a multi-million-dollar plaintiff’s verdict in an insurance coverage and bad faith dispute, and successfully defending church institutions in trial and appellate matters. She has also conducted mediations that resulted in settlements. Her practice therefore includes both defense and plaintiff-side experience across liability, insurance, institutional, and commercial disputes.
