About
Amanda M. Ghannam is the founder of AMG Legal PLLC and a Michigan employment and civil rights lawyer who represents employees and individuals whose rights have been violated. Ghannam handles workplace discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, whistleblower claims, police misconduct, First Amendment disputes, and other government civil rights matters. She also works with other attorneys as co-counsel and provides appellate support in employment and civil rights cases.
Ghannam earned her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law with a specialization in Labor, Work, and Income. Her legal education provided a foundation in employment rights, workplace law, and public-interest advocacy. Before founding AMG Legal PLLC, she spent seven years with Michigan employment and civil rights firms, including two years as a managing partner, gaining experience across investigation, litigation, trial, and appellate work.
Ghannam has handled matters at every stage of litigation, obtained a federal jury verdict, negotiated settlements for clients facing discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination, and secured a preliminary injunction in litigation involving police treatment of protesters that the Sixth Circuit later affirmed. Her practice also includes appellate work, case consultation, and mediation, giving clients and co-counsel support in both employment disputes and constitutional civil rights matters.
Amanda M. Ghannam has been selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2023 through 2026 and received the Detroit Bar Association’s Outstanding Young Lawyer Award. She is a Cooperating Attorney with the ACLU of Michigan, serves on the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan Board of Directors, and was appointed to the City of Dearborn Board of Ethics in 2026. Her practice combines employment litigation, civil rights advocacy, appellate experience, and practical client guidance.
