About

Allison E. McDevitt is an associate in Ogletree Deakins’ Indianapolis office who represents employers in employment-related matters. She defends companies across multiple industries, including sports and entertainment, against allegations involving discrimination, harassment, and retaliation in federal and state courts and administrative proceedings. She works with the firm’s Drug Testing Practice Group, advising clients on workplace drug testing policies and related compliance challenges.

McDevitt earned a J.D. cum laude from Indiana University Maurer School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Michigan, where she studied Sport Management. In law school, she served as Associate Chief Justice of the Sherman Minton Executive Advocacy Board and as an Executive Editor of the Indiana Law Journal. Her academic and advocacy experience supports careful legal analysis, writing, and courtroom preparation.

McDevitt gained practical experience through advocacy competitions, a judicial externship, work with the Michigan Poverty Law Program, and a summer associate position with Ogletree Deakins. Her current practice combines employment litigation with counseling on drug testing policies and workplace issues. She helps employers assess allegations, prepare defenses, respond to administrative proceedings, and address policy questions before they develop into broader disputes.

Allison E. McDevitt is admitted in Indiana and before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. She is active in state and local bar organizations and writes on developing workplace issues. Her practice gives employers litigation and counseling support across employment disputes and drug testing concerns, with an emphasis on clear analysis, preparation, and practical guidance for changing workplace requirements.
