About

Allegra Lawrence-Hardy is recognized for her innovative strategies, strong advocacy, and practical solutions in complex disputes. She has successfully represented Fortune 100 companies in trials and arbitrations across the nation and abroad. Allegra completed her B.A. at Spelman College before earning her J.D. from Yale Law School. Following law school, she clerked for the Honorable Susan H. Black of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. This foundation provided her with a strong judicial perspective that continues to inform her legal approach.

Allegra’s practice spans a broad range of high-stakes litigation and crisis management. She frequently guides clients through internal investigations and sensitive organizational matters. In employment law, she advises management on compliance and workplace challenges, ensuring legal risks are managed while aligning with overall business objectives.

Allegra has also developed a respected career in election and voting rights litigation. She has represented municipalities, nonprofit groups, political parties, and candidates in critical disputes. Notably, she was part of the legal team for presidential candidate Al Gore in Bush v. Gore and contributed to the 2020 Biden for President recount team. These experiences underscore her role in shaping political and electoral legal matters.

Allegra’s professional recognition includes listings in Chambers (Band One), Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers®, Benchmark Litigation, and Forbes’ inaugural list of America’s Top 200 Lawyers in 2024. She also serves in significant leadership and advisory roles, including trustee positions at Spelman College and Emory University, and numerous legal and civic organizations.

Allegra Lawrence-Hardy continues to stand out as a trusted advocate whose career reflects excellence in litigation, deep commitment to community service, and dedication to advancing justice. She maintains an active pro bono practice, representing underserved communities such as voters, children, asylum applicants, adoptive parents, and farmworkers. Her commitment to justice extends beyond her practice through leadership in organizations advancing diversity, education, and access to the courts.
