About
Alexandra Martinez focuses her legal career on family law matters and works with individuals and families facing difficult personal challenges. Her approach combines practical guidance with compassion, helping clients navigate emotional situations without judgment. She understands that family disputes often involve sensitive issues and works to help clients move forward while protecting their interests and family relationships.
Alexandra earned a BA from Northeastern Illinois University in 2007, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She later earned her Juris Doctor from DePaul College of Law in 2010 and was named to the Dean’s List during her legal studies. This educational background provided a strong foundation for her work in family law and complex domestic relations matters.
Alexandra has extensive experience handling divorce, child support, maintenance, visitation, parentage, and other family law disputes. She has represented clients in challenging cases involving parental alienation, contested custody matters, and family conflicts that require both legal knowledge and careful attention to personal circumstances. Her practice is centered on finding solutions that support families while addressing complicated legal concerns.
Alexandra’s accomplishments include helping reunite parents and children after long periods of separation caused by parental alienation. She successfully assisted in the reunification of a teenage boy and his father, as well as a six-year-old boy and his father, after months apart. She also prevented an attempt to secretly remove a child to Mexico and obtained relief in a parentage and child support matter involving mistaken identity that had remained unresolved for more than twenty years.
Alexandra Martinez remains dedicated to helping clients achieve positive outcomes in family law matters while providing steady support during difficult transitions. Alexandra has also guided families through unique legal challenges, including establishing guardian estate accounts for children after the loss of a parent when life insurance proceeds were left without a trustee beneficiary. Her work has earned recognition through “Top 40 Under 40” in family law by the National Advocates in 2017 and selection as one of Super Lawyers’ Rising Stars for 2018 and 2019.
