Alexander Anderson

Alexander Anderson is a partner and chair of the firm’s Tax Practice. He advises corporations, investment funds, financial institutions, and high-net-worth individuals on complex US federal income tax issues related to corporate transactions, financings, restructurings, and investment strategies.

Alexander earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School in 1999. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Boston College in 1996, where he built a strong academic foundation before beginning his legal career in tax and corporate law.

Alexander counsels clients on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, capital raising activities, and financial restructurings. His practice includes advising companies and investors on tax planning related to strategic transactions and the integration of acquired businesses.

Alexander has extensive experience in bankruptcy and restructuring matters. He represents both debtors and creditors in financial restructurings and Chapter 11 proceedings, helping clients navigate complex tax considerations during distressed transactions and reorganizations.

Alexander also works on securitizations and financing transactions across a variety of asset classes. His experience includes aviation and equipment financing, as well as securitizations involving aircraft assets, energy interests, and intellectual property rights.

Alexander frequently contributes to discussions on developments in US federal tax law. He has authored articles on tax issues affecting corporate transactions and regularly speaks at conferences related to tax, finance, and investment matters.
