Albert J. Perez, Esq. is the founder and principal attorney of The Law Offices of Albert J. Perez, P.A., where he devotes his practice to immigration law and immigrant advocacy. Known for his integrity, compassion, and results-driven representation, Mr. Perez has dedicated his career to protecting the rights of individuals and families navigating the U.S. immigration system.
Before establishing his firm in 2008, Mr. Perez served as Head Counsel for a nonprofit organization focused on immigrant rights and humanitarian representation. From 2005 through 2008, he represented hundreds of clients before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Miami Immigration Court, and the Board of Immigration Appeals. His leadership helped the organization earn the Governor’s Points of Light Award in 2007 for outstanding community service.
Mr. Perez earned his Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center in 2004. During law school, he was an active member of the Nova Law Review and authored the influential article Wet Foot, Dry Foot, No Foot: The Recurring Controversy Between Cubans, Haitians, and the United States Immigration Policy, which has been cited in multiple legal publications. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Thomas University, earned in 2001.
Since founding his firm, Mr. Perez has built a respected practice representing clients in all aspects of immigration law, including family-based petitions, asylum, deportation defense, and naturalization. He is admitted to practice before the Florida Bar, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the Executive Office for Immigration Review, and all U.S. Immigration Courts, including Puerto Rico.
A fluent English and Spanish speaker, Albert J. Perez has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star for multiple years and remains an active member of the Florida Bar, the Cuban-American Bar Association, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
